How frustrating is that? You’ve set your target to an achievable one, pressed the accept button then realised (as in my case) you’ve added weight rather than put in a minus figure. Doh! If you do a web search for something along the lines of ‘wii fit plus change deadline’ you will find a few entries on blogs and forums telling you that you can’t change it other than to wait for a 2 week period to be up and the Wii asking you if you would like to change your deadline. Either that or deleting (W…T…F…?) your profile!!

2 weeks?! I didn’t want to wait that long so found out a simple way of fooling the Wii into thinking I’d reached my target so it would ask me to set a new one.

As in my case I’d selected a weight gain rather than a weight loss. This is the simplest to change as all you have to do is get on the wii fit board when you do your test but either leave some heavy clothes on (if you usually weigh yourself wi’ nowt on) or just hold a frozen chicken or bag of spuds (if you’re a veggie) during the weigh phase of the daily test. As this weight should be more than your target (depending on how far over you went) the Wii will tell you how incredible you are at reaching your target ahead of schedule and then ask for a new one. Simples!

As you can guess, weighing lighter than you already do is a bit of a challenge and something scientists have been looking for for quite some time now. If you do find a way to create an anti gravity device as you try to fool the Wii Fit Plus then let me know and we’ll split the profits 50/50, mkay? ;) I’m sure with a bit of thinking though you can weigh less by keeping one foot off the board and on the floor or grabbing hold of that chandelier to pull yourself up on.

Now you may be thinking that weighing yourself with all that extra weight will put an ugly bulge in your progress graph but fear not, just repeat your daily test as you would normally and when the Wii asks you if you would like to overwrite the previous data then reply ‘yes’ and you’re done. Job’s a good ‘un!
